SBU Homecoming Parade and Field Event

Saturday, October 6th

9:00 am      Meet at First Baptist Church

10:00 am     Parade Starts at FBC and ends at SBU Music Building

11:00 am     After the Parade, kids are released until 2:30pm.

2:30 pm       Meet back at SBU and get ready for half-time.

We will be finished when half-time is over.

Car Wash Info

Due to the weather, and schedule conflicts we are asking each band student to wash just one car (more if they want, the class with the most will recieve PIZZA!).  We will not be meeting in one place to do a traditional car wash.  Pledge sheets and donations are due Friday September 28th.

All pledges/donations will go to the students trip cost.  The Disney trip in JUNE OF 2014, will be for 8-12 grade students.  Students not eligible for Disney will have thier money on record for the next band event, i.e. Worlds of Fun trip, etc.

The cost of this trip is unknown at this time, but is projected to be between $600-700 per person.  We encourage the students to fundraise as much as possible.  Students that fundraise over the amount can apply the extra to parent tickets!

Friday Schedule

1:10 pm  Assembly
    -Cases must be loaded on trailer before the assembly

2:30 pm Parade to First Baptist Church
    -Students should wear Band Shirts in this Parade
    -Students will need a ride from the First Baptist at around 3:30pm
   -Load the Trailer for Game

5:30 pm  Meet at SBU for the Game

All Band - Car Wash



The Car Wash sheets should be turned in by Friday.  We will be washing cars in two locations around town.  I will have more details by tomorrow.  We will be asking for student volunteers (8th - HS) to work from 11am to 1pm.  Students will bring buckets, shimmies and towels.  We will provide hoses and other items.

High School - First Home Game Friday - September 7th


Our first Home Game is Friday, September 7th.  Call time is 5:30pm at the SBU Music Building.  The music building is on Pike Street across from the football filed.  Students will need the following items:

1) Instrument
2) Uniform
3) White Socks
4) Gloves (passed out at the game)
5) Hat

These items can be loaded on the trailer Friday or brought by the student.   We will perform pregame at 6:47pm and half-time at around 8:00pm.  We will only play two songs on the field as a preview of our show.  Upcoming games will include more of the show as we learn more sets on the field.
